Comics blogs and website links...

I've realized of late that there are many good comic book blogs out there, and I've been exploring some. I went on a search, with the intent of listing comics blogs and websites that I want to return to. It's very much a work in progress, and suggestions for sites that should be included are welcome. I gravitate towards sites about mainstream comics, and those by women.
List of good comics sites
Sites worth looking at, or at least relevant to my interests. Generally speaking, I eliminated sites which said they were about comics, but seemed to mostly talk about movies based on comics, and anime, and cartoons. I eliminated sites that hadn't been updated in months. I eliminated sites which looked pretentious, or esoteric, or which dealt mostly with independents, webcomics, toys, or comics that don't interest me, or site put up by comics publishers rather than fans. (he Marvel site excepted, because I'm interested in Marvel. I eliminated anything that seemed to focus only on what's happening in New York, or other localities I am not likely to visit often. I eliminated sites about people I never heard, though I might explore those at a later date. I eliminated sites with a lot of video clips.
I don't have time now to check that the links all work - if you find one that doesn't, let me know, and I'll fix it.
- Biff Bam Bop. A lot of material here about things that aren't actually comics (like movies based on comics), but interesting in style.
- Blog at newsarama, or Blog at newsarama: comics
- A Comic Book Blog
- Comicopedia
- Comics Bulletin. This lost points with me because the first four articles I saw were about movies; but it does look as if it has intelligent and eclectic things to say about comics. To be fair, there has been a lot of interesting news lately about comic book movies - with pictures from Spider-Man, Thor, Captain America and X-Men First Class cropping up. And any site with an article about the "ten lamest costumes in comics" is the kind of thing I'm looking for.
- The Comics Journal
- Comics Oughta be Fun
- The Comics Reporter (Tom Spurgeon)
- Comic Book Resources. Hypergeek looks like a similarly good site for comics news.
- The Comics Reviewer - lists webcomics. See also Comics Blogs: the ultimate rank, whose title seems to me delightfully ambiguous. Ranked or rank?
- Eye on Comics - Don MacPherson
- Gay League
- Has Books, Reads Comics - Jill Pantozzi. This seems to have a lot about comics-based movies and other marginalia, but makes my list because it's by a woman, and because it looks as if she really does like comics. Besides, I like her nick, "The Nerdy Bird".
- Heidi MacDonald - The Beat
- io9 - all over the map, definitely not primarily relating to comics, but interesting enough to be worth including.
- The Joe Shuster Awards - Canadians in comics
- Marvel's blogsite. At a quick glance, it looks disappointing, but might be better than it seems.
- The Pulse. Everything I said about Comics Bulletin applies here, too.
- Stormantic
- When Fangirls Attack - gender issues in comics. The topic usually terrifies me, politically speaking, but this looks interesting.
Sites for favourite artists and writers:
This is neither exhaustive nor inclusive, and a lot of my favourite writers and artists don't have websites. I've concentrated here on websites by and for the creators listed, not fansites, or sales sites.
