An apa is an "amateur press association", sort of an amateur fannish version of a magazine that my friends and I print ourselves - for ourselves. I'm currently in one called Apaplexy. An issue comes out every six weeks. My zine - the part I contribute each month - is called "Pandas & Palindromes" because for my cover I always have a picture of a panda, and I always start with a different palindrome. I am always looking for good (and unusual) pictures or drawings of pandas to use on my cover.
Does that make more sense? It's just... one of those fannish things I like to do.
