Smallville: Magneto....
Nov. 12th, 2003 10:28 pmI mean "Magnetic". As the episode progressed, I had a happy fantasy that the Magnetic Kid (no reference intended there) was actually Rokk Krinn, a.k.a. Cosmic Boy of the Legion of Super-Heroes. And that he wasn't a suspicious Meteor Mutant about to harm Lana Lang, but a hero from the future come to help Clark.
It would have been a nice change.
Not that there weren't things I loved about this episode. For example:
- Lex. So what else is new.
- The way Clark looked.
- Chloe. She's just about perfect lately. (Picture little hearts floating around my head.)
- Scenes between Lex and Chloe.
Re Lana: less said the better - on the whole. What a shrew. I wanted her to run off with Magneto-Lad and leave Smallville for good. The town and the show, and definitely, Clark's life.
I liked the scene between Lana and Lex right before she took the money from the drawer. Dumb move: if she hadn't announced to Lex her intention to abscond with the money, she could have just left. As it was, he threw the book at her, obviously, and it was great to see her doing community service. I actually liked her in that last scene, and loved the way Lex took her back at the Talon. Don't get me wrong: I wish he hadn't, but if he did, I like the way he did it.
