I love writing resolutions for the New Year. I always do. It puts a smile on my face, a bounce in my step, fills me with the joy of anticipation. I try to think of new and creative ways to present the resoutions that will help me remember them. I post them on my bathroom wall for easy access. I think of it as a sort of game - challenging fate, saying, yeah, I can do it, and I'll prove it.
So, for this year:
New Year's Resolutions for 2011
It's really only one resolution, with twenty-six parts:
I will do everything I can to optimize the following in my life:
A Aspiration
B Breath
C Chaucer
D Dental floss
E Energy
F Focus
G Goals
H History
I Independent thinking
J Job (as in, find one)
K Knitting
L Language
M Meditation
N Neatness
O Organization
P Perseverance
Q Quickness
R Read
S Sleep
T Thoroughness
U Understanding
V Vigilance
W Writing
X Xtraordinary insight
Y Yoga
Z Zaniness
I had to cheat on X; and 'zaniness' really means, "cultivate lightness of heart".
