Smallville: "Perry"....

I remember Perry White from the old Superman comics. I remember him as a crochety old guy - a kind of restrained version of J. Jonah Jamieson.

Who'd have guessed how interesting he'd be in the TV show?

The best thing about this episode is that Lex Luthor was as beautiful as ever I have seen him, and then some. Clark too. I don't know what happened but the photography was suddenly much better than it was all last season, up to the best of first season standards. There were some wonderful effects with light and composition. The only scene that visually descended to the trite was the final scene between Lana and Clark. Funny how I'd failed to notice she'd stopped obsessing over her dead parents.

My goodness this was fun. And to see Lex lose his composure at the hint of a threat to Clark - oh, beautiful!
