I think she likes him, but thinks he might be a suspect narrator of some sort - though I shouldn't put words in her mouth. I was also surprised she didn't trust him. Like Neal, I trust Peter completely.
As for June - I love her dearly. But I think she'd act in Byron's interests, and she has no reason t o protect Peter or Kate. In other words, I may think she's the antagonist, without thinking she's really bad.
