What;s in a name?

fajrdrakoI just read this list of "fastest rising names" for boys and girls, presumably in the US. Amused to see "Castiel" at the top for boys - ! And "Dorian" is on the list too, for us Eroica lovers. And "Sookie" is on the list for girls. Oh dear.
Boys get such Old Testament names these days. I approve: I like those names. I was comparing the lists of most popular names - they're similar, but the US tops is Jacob (yup, good connotations, tip of the hat to gorgeous Jake Gyllenhaal) but in Canada it's surpassed by Matthew. Canadians seem to give Celtic names more currency.
