Visiting Mr. Green....

I just got back from seeing the current play at the Ottawa Little Theatre, Visiting Mr. Green by Jeff Baron.

For me, and with the utterly weird mood I was in all day, it was the perfect play. Unpretentious, realistic, gay-friendly and optimistic. I enjoyed it more than I've enjoyed any stage production in a long time.

I saw this at the Pasadena Playhouse a few years ago, directed by Andy Robinson. I too enjoyed it very much and found it warm, real and ultimately affirming.

It is all of those things! Do you remember who the actors were? I wish I could have seen that production.

Mr. Green was a long-time character actor named Harold Gould, a familiar TV face. I can't remember who played the young man. I really enjoyed it, though.
