For Whom the Bell Tolls
Jack liked funerals.
It was universally accepted as fact that the inevitable outcome of life is death. Jack was the only exception.
Every funeral was a celebration of someone's life, and an acknowledgment of the meaning of their death. Good people, bad people, lonely people, loved people - it didn't matter. They had lived, and that meant something. Didn't matter how they lived.
Sometimes the casket held a lover. More often, a stranger. This time, a curious boy who'd swallowed a Dogon Eye. Stupid, but... charming.
Because life was beautiful, Jack cherished each death as if it were his own.
