Agreed re Trudeau. And that is one reason I don't despise him as much as I did at the time! And I think that Harper is particularly bad at fostering divisions rather than what makes us all Canadian. Really really bad.

I mostly agree re idealism. Need a careful mix of idealism and pragmatism. What I'd like to see is more mutual respect, less governing for sound bites, more cooperation. Folks, this world is not black and white. No party has 100% of the great ideas. Learn from each other dammit. LISTEN to each other.
