Writer's Block: Found Objects

1. It wouldn't be quite accurate to say that my harp was 'thrown away' when I acquired it, but it was close to that - it was given to my mother, for me, quite casually, by a woman she hardly knew.
   
2. I picked up a lovely telescope (with tripod and everything) in the laundry room last month.
   
3. commodorified gave me a sweater she didn't quite think suited her, which I love.
   
4. It's a matter of good timing, but I picked up a discarded monitor (in good condition) to use with my Linux computer just when I needed one.
   
5. My aunt got rid of Winni Ille Pu by giving it to me - a book I'd coveted for years.

Lizzie, dear, if you get a chance, would you post to let us know how maaseru is doing after her surgery? I worry. :-)

I posted my account of my visit to see her in the hospital here (http://fajrdrako.livejournal.com/1054757.html). She's doing all right, I think - still very drugged and wired up to machines, but she didn't seem to be unduly suffering and just complained about the blood pressure cuff being annoying, and the oxygen tube was tickling her nose. I tried to readjust it so it would bother her less. She ate a fair amount of supper while I watched, and by the time I left they'd already got a room for her to be moved to.

I'll see her again tomorrow and will report on that, too. I suspect she'll be much more awake then.

I thought so. We'll see how she is today, when she will presumably be more awake. I'm expecting she'll be doing all right but will want to complain more. [g]
