Re #1 -- let me know when you figure it out. Hinduism has some of the same values, but heck if I know how to get there from here. Or even if I want to. Then again, it does have the handy "different phases of life have different duties" get out of jail free card -- meaning, I'm in the "householder" phase where I get to procreate and be a good family person. The "sanyasi" phase come later -- that's when you start putting away these lifely things (in other words, nonattachment to people, deeds, and things). That sounds really hard to me.
