Chained

In an abandoned greenhouse, Lex's ankles were shackled to stakes in the ground, his wrists fastened by chains to the rafters. He was naked, spreadeagled, waiting for his kidnappers to return and kill him. Lionel would never pay ransom.

He wanted to live. Save me, Clark.

Clark appeared suddenly in the doorway, with his T-shirt rumpled, hair tousled, staring. Lex had never been so glad to see anyone. "Clark!"

"You look...."

"Clark?"

Clark licked his lips, blushing. "I just...."

"It's okay, Clark. I liked the way you looked in the cornfield, too."

"Really?" Wide, hungry young eyes.

"Extreme beauty. Extreme need."

"Oh."

It was stupid to get an erection now. Sometimes stupidity is good.

Lex arched his back. "Would you touch a helpless man? Take advantage? Kiss him?"

"I ... might." Clark took a step forward.

Maybe the day wasn't a complete waste, after all.
