The family of Lex Luthor
Dec. 11th, 2004 01:37 pmLast week one of the comics I read was Action Comics #313, in which the rather long back-up story was about Supergirl and her best friend, Lena Luthor - Lex Luthor's sister. Lena suffers from both amnesia and telepathy, but the interesting thing (with Smallville in mind) was this glimpse of Lex's parents....
The speaker in the caption at the top is Lex, who is telling Lena what happened.

Presumaby the house in the background is theirs - it isn't much like the Luthor Manor of the show!
I wonder who the artist is - Al Plastino? Is there a directory somewhere online where one can look up old art and writing credits from the days before artists' names appeared in the comic?

Date: 2004-12-13 05:13 pm (UTC)Aaah! Poor Lex! What had he done? In the story here they disowned him etc. when he went to jail. (How nice to have parental support when one is in trouble. Can you see where my sympathies lie?)
it showed Lena as being quite a bit younger than she appears here.
If Lex is Clark's age and Lena is Kara's age, doesn't that make them about 30 and about 15 at the time of the story? Or am I off base?
Proof of how much DC canon varied, even from issue to issue.
I'm not sure how much the writers and artists cared, in those day. I still haven't looked up who wrote and who drew this one.
