The Mikado...
Mar. 27th, 2004 11:50 pmI went to the The Mikado, put on by the Savoy Society. The ticket was a birthday present from Beulah, with dinner at the "Chances R" restaurant. I went off my diet and had caesar salad and spaghetti, not nearly as good as what Pat makes. Talked to Miriam about her trip to Costa Rica, which sounds adventurous.
Mikado was great, especially the lovely set by Jennifer Donnelly. I particularly liked the performance of Nanki-Poo by Daniel Gillis. Didn't like the interpretation of Katisha, who was otherwise good. Did so much like the little kids sitting behind me, rusting candy papers and kicking the back of my seat during the overture.
For some reason, I was cold all day. Enjoyed a hot rock treatment from Denyse, but was cold again afterwards. Sadly, Denyse is no longer taking weekend or evening appointments. I guess I'll have to find another good massage therapist.
