At 11:10 last night the surgeon phoned me to say that the operation had been long, but Elizabeth was fine. And he dashed off before providing any further details. Elizabeth phoned me this morning to ask what he said as she didn't get any details either. The plan now is to grab the next doctor who passes by and get them to cough up the info.
Elizabeth sounded herself, and quite chipper, not much pain to speak of, and glad it's over at last.
