fajrdrako: (eyes)

Beware what you wish for: I said last week that I hoped I never saw Lana Lang's trembling lower lip again. Alas, this episode, she has progressed to open weeping and plenty of it. I should have counted myself lucky at the trembly lip.

It was anoying to see the many lingering close-ups of her (weeping, frightened) face when we could have been looking at Clark's face instead. He has a much nicer face.

I loved the scenes with Lionel Luthor; all of them. And the scenes with Lex; all of them. Brilliant. Love the level 3 plotline. Lionel with a pink tea-cup. Heh. I particularly loved the black shirt we first saw him in. Nice coat, too, and a return to lavender shirts.

I rejoice that Dr. Bryce didn't so much as show her face, though we did see her wedding cake. I'm suddenly hoping she's a level 3 clone.

I loved the special effects on the superspeed in the graveyard in the rain. I even liked Pete in that scene, and Clark all wet from the rain is very nice indeed.

I loved the Chloe scene. One puny Chloe scene in the whole thing and Chloe was wonderful and I love her.

Seems to me there's only one basic Lana plot: someone loves her, stalks her one way or another, and tries to kill her but Clark saves her. We saw it in "Metamporphosis" first, but it went on through "Nocturne" and "Obscura" and both Tina episodes and no doubt others I prefer not to remember....

It's been a tiring day. I think I need to go for a walk.

Angels

There are many mythic beings I love: dragons are one type, of course. And angels. I've always found angels sexy, and not just since reading Neil Gaiman stories and The Vintner's Luck, not to mention Milton. Scary beautiful warrior-guys with wings. (Nice pause for mental image of Renaissance and Medieval frescoes with edrapersy, skin, and finely-drawn wingfeathers.)

So it's nice to get Gabriel, though, somewhat prejudiced by Dorothy Dunnett (where in The Disorderly Knights the name Gabriel has a sort of specific connotation....

Does Oscar Wilde ever write about angels?

Gabriel. You're most like the ArchAngel of
Communication, in charge of things like
telephones, libraries, internet, and the 411
phone menu. You're organised and are not shy
about inflicting that organisation on others.
