No chance to write much here but I wanted to say a few things about tonight's Smallville before I crash. I'll cut to avoid causing problems for those who haven't seen it yet.

Thinks I liked:

  1. Lex. So sexy, so nicely dressed, so much as he should be. That little quirk of the eyebrow. That twist to the mouth. The way he looks at Clark, especially when Clark is looking particularly lovely. Mmm. In the scene were Adam is playing the piano and Lex is talking to him, [livejournal.com profile] lmondegreen said, "Now that's a nice pairing," and I couldn't help thinking she was right. But I also sort of missed Lionel, who was the last one to play that piano. Another episode without Lionel. When will we see him again?

  2. I like Lana better with Adam than I ever liked her with Clark.

  3. Adam is interesting. I like him. I am convinced he will not turn out to be a villain, if only because no one named Adam Knight could be a villain in comics. His story is intriguing. A mystery superhero: I like the type.

  4. I liked the cliffhanger ending with Jonathan's collapse.

  5. Martha is still far from her best. Where are the Marthas of yesteryear?

  6. I loved seeing Lex and Lana talking in an area of Luthor Manor we hadn't seen before.

  7. Chloe, Chloe, Chloe. Words cannot express my adoration of her. I wish she was in it more. This and all episodes.

  8. I was glad that Jordan wasn't a mutant villain. As superpowers go, his was depressing.

  9. We need more scenes of Lex and Clark together.

Yay!

"Lex. So sexy, so nicely dressed"

I thought exactly that. Actually, Lex has never struck me as sexy the way he has others (mostly because I adore hair) but when I saw him standing in that nice suit... yeah, it struck me.

"I like Lana better with Adam than I ever liked her with Clark."

Completely agree. I could actually tolerate her. It doesn't seem to angsty, high school with him.

"I liked the cliffhanger ending with Jonathan's collapse."

Yes, more episodes of Smallville should end on a cliffhanger. They usually do not. They usually wind up little subplots each episode. Occassionally they leave things hanging and I like it. This was a very dramatic hanging, and I loved it.

"Chloe, Chloe, Chloe."

Yep.

"We need more scenes of Lex and Clark together."

Oh yeah. I think they teased and spoiled us with that Asylum episode. Dammit.

I have always thought Lex looked magnificent in suits and ties, while the casual shirts he wore in second season weren't particularly remarkable. He dressed best in "Houglass" - must have been the expensive shoes! and I loved seeing him in the fencing outfit in the pilot. Ahh, great Lex moments.

Lex was really what brought me to the show. I was intrigued by him. I thought he was sexy from the beginning. Like so many attractions, it's hard to say why, but ... I find him utterly beautiful.

Lana: I could actually tolerate her.

Me too. Isn't it amazing?

Yes, and Delete had a few choice bits too. More, please.

I can't keep track of the episode titles. But for some reason I remember Asylum. Perhaps because it was so literal?

Yes, it's an easy one. So is Shattered. I have never been able to remember what Precipice is about, and Hereafter is a terrible title!
I do like Delete, though, and Metamorphosis as titles.

Hereafter is the title of one of the Justice League cartoon episodes. And it's all about Superman. Weird, huh?

Kind of nice, actually. And maybe no coincidence. I think some of the same creative people work on both shows.

Adam is playing the piano and Lex is talking to him

mmm...they do look good together.

Adam is playing the piano and Lex is talking to him

speaking of pianos, does anybody else have a theory why the piano keeps popping up? i keep thinking that the smallville crew gotten rid of the pool table because it was such a subtext device that keeps interfering with their clana-pushing.

if that is so, they've sadly miscalculated. especially in that slumber episode where lex was fingering *snicker* the piano keys. *g*

Not specifically, but my friends and I were commenting that playing the piano is a sinister sign in Smallville. The characters who play the piano - Lionel, for example - are suspicious at best!

I'm not sure why the pool table went; I don't mind its lack particularly, but I'd like to see more scenes of Clark and Lex doing something together - anything. Watching TV, playing chess, nude wrestling....

I lvoe the way Lex has chemistry with immobile objects. He inherited that from his father. Fondling fingers. So nice.
