I'm enjoying this show more with each episode. It reminds me of favourite shows of my past: The Man From U.N.C.L.E., the Avengers - I mean Steed and Mrs. Peel, not the Marvel version; X-Files and Fringe. I love the international settings - how many shows these days bring us Stockholm and Malta in two consecutive episodes?

I loved it that the show used X-ray specs.

Are we going to get more weaponry and gadgets from the ads in the back of the old comics? Amazing Sea-Monkeys? The Black Dragon Fighting Society? Grow Living Monsters in Your Own Room? New Bodies for Old?

There's a potential plot in every one of them.

I'm afraid they're losing me. But then I don't have the comics background I suspect is necessary to appreciate them.

I'm having much more fun with Sleepy Hollow as my new show this season. I need steel tension cables to suspend my disbelief for it, but that's part of its charm, and the guy playing Ichabod Crane is, well, gorgeous.

I suspect you're right about the logic/approach thing for Agents of SHIELD. It just doesn't work well for me.

My horror quotient is lower than yours (I didn't make it through the Johnny Depp movie), and Sleepy Hollow is just fine for me. It plays incredibly fast and loose with American history, but I'm a history buff and it doesn't bother me. Well, not too much. The concept that George Washington ordered the Boston Tea Party jerked me completely out of the story for a couple of minutes episode before last (headless horsemen? check. A real live Sandman? fine. the four horsemen of the apocalypse attacking a modern American city? sure, why not? -- but George Washington ordering the Boston Tea Party? er, no, that's not how it happened [g]).

Judging from what you've said before about your knowledge of the U.S., though, I suspect that won't bother you [g].

Let me know what you think of it. I'll be curious [g].

You know what? This actually just made me think about the show in a whole new way. I've been watching it, liking it enough but not particularly entranced, but this?? You genius, you.

New Bodies for Old..... yeah we now how THAT goes!!

(p.s. Man from U.N.C.L.E. is the best! I need to rewatch my box set again, it's so great.....)
